Prompt Best Practices
Good Prompts
- ✅ Specific to your industry
- ✅ Match how real users ask questions
- ✅ Include buying intent signals
- ✅ Cover different customer stages
Avoid
- ❌ Too generic ("best company")
- ❌ Too specific ("company at 123 Main St")
- ❌ Your own brand name in the query
- ❌ Outdated terminology
Organizing Prompts
Use tags to organize your collection:
- By product/service
- By customer segment
- By funnel stage
- By campaign
Prompt Performance
Track how each prompt performs:
- Mention rate - Percentage of scans where you appear
- Average position - Where you rank when mentioned
- Model variance - Consistency across AI platforms
